    Regional Chapter Meeting

    October 21, 2026 | 6pm-9pm ET
Britesmith Brewing,1250 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY

    Educational Objectives:

    •    Differentiate the mechanisms of action and titration schedules for GLP-1 RAs and dual GIP/GLP-1 RAs in the management of obesity

    •    Identify patient candidates for anti-obesity medications by integrating current clinical guidelines with patient-specific cardiometabolic comorbidities

    •    Examine the scope of pharmacist involvement in developing evidence-based mitigation strategies to manage common medication adverse effects and risk factors for suboptimal medication-taking behaviors

    •    Explore practical workflows to resolve systemic, provider, and patient-level barriers to obesity care in daily practice

    Overview:

This session equips pharmacists with the clinical and operational strategies needed to optimize obesity management, covering practical concerns from the unique mechanisms of action and titration schedules of GLP-1 and dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists to navigating guidelines, comorbidities, and adverse effects. Through an interactive, case-based workshop, participants will collaborate with peers to evaluate practical workflows that address systemic, provider, and patient-level barriers to long-term medication use in daily practice.

This activity is supported by an educational grant from Lilly.
